Cue 01 · Survey
We arrive before the light goes.
By six the barge is on station off the quay. The fallout zone has been walked, the wind is read from the harbour mast, and the exclusion line is taped long before the first guest turns up.
Licensed displays Stonecrouch Quay, Kent
Firework displays for weddings, towns and festivals across Kent. Written to the tenth of a second, fired from our own barge, and signed off by people who watch the wind for a living.

01 The site at dusk
Cue 01 · Survey
By six the barge is on station off the quay. The fallout zone has been walked, the wind is read from the harbour mast, and the exclusion line is taped long before the first guest turns up.
Cue 02 · The racks
Each shell sits in its own tube, wired to a numbered cue. The racks are fanned a few degrees apart so the breaks open side by side and never on top of each other.
Cue 03 · The desk
The show is written to the tenth of a second and fired from a locked desk by two licensed pyrotechnicians. One fires. The other watches the sky, the wind and the crowd.

02 The shells rise
Lift
A short, sharp thump throws each shell clear of its tube. Then it climbs on a tail of gold sparks while a timed fuse counts down. The light arrives first. The sound walks in a moment later.
Height
The shell size is chosen for the site, not the other way round. A garden wedding gets a break at 60 metres. A town waterfront gets one at 150, so everyone on the front sees the same sky.

03 The first burst
The peony
The classic. Every spark leaves the centre at the same pace, so the ball opens evenly and holds its shape for a second before the colour starts to fall. Shown here at a third of real speed.
The chrysanthemum
Each spark leaves a trail of its own, so the burst looks like a flower with petals. The tails flicker as they die. This is the one that crackles.
The willow
Long-burning gold sparks with a heavy droop. They hang for five seconds, then pour toward the water, doubled in the harbour below. The best friend of a slow song.

04 The finale barrage
The barrage
The desk stops waiting. Cues land every fifth of a second, fanned left to right across the whole harbour, colours stacking until the sky has no gaps in it.
Rings and hearts
Special shells draw a ring or a heart in the dark. They are packed so the pattern stays crisp before the sparks drop. Tell us the names on the guest list and we can write them into the running order.
The quay
Two thousand people gasp at the same moment, and every phone goes up. That is the number we design to. Everything else is just powder and timing.

05 The smoke clears
Quiet
The last willow hangs in the haze and the bank of smoke slides off down the estuary. The quay is quiet for a few seconds, then it breaks into applause.
Sweep
Every tube is checked and counted, the fallout zone is walked with torches, and the barge is back alongside before you have found your coat. We leave no site until it is clear.

06 Your turn
Pick a shell and a colour, then tap the sky to break it where you tap. Every shot goes into your running order. Press play to see the whole programme as the crowd would.
